About the Author

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she found a personally-warm but temperature-cold lifestyle, Lori enjoyed a family engaging in all sorts of verbal play. As a youngster, she wrote poems as a way of bringing cheer to celebrations and expressing the myriad of emotions that accompany growing-up. Throughout her life, writing has been a source of fun and comfort, while attempting to explain the world we all live in. In 1984, Lori relocated to Austin to attend the University of Texas, where she was thrilled to find both the climate and the people warm. Lori maintains that she contributes to the city's culture, "Keep Austin Weird," as well as enveloping herself in the invaluable Austin Jewish community. She has practiced as a certified Speech/Language Pathologist for over 20 years, helping a variety of children and adults realize their best communication skills. Lori has lived the struggle of children dealing with ADD-both professionally with clients and in her personal life. Lori lives with her husband, David, her 15-year old, Josh, and a steady flow of adorable foster dogs. Some of Lori's favorite things include camping, singing, community involvement, and blowing bubbles.
