Reviews

‘It is sometimes said, with some justification, that those who are specialists in a particular field often express themselves when speaking of their subject in terms that are impenetrable to those of us who are not fellow specialists. No such criticism could be levelled at Jon Shonk… I have no hesitation in recommending this book.’ Weather (Royal Meteorological Society
‘Introducing Meteorology is a most welcome addition to the bookshelves of students, interested amateurs, meteorology educators, and those who simply enjoy a readable, affordable book on the weather. Jon Shonk has created a marvelously succinct and up-to date introduction to weather that serves a variety of audiences and purposes extremely well. I hope this is only the first of many excellent books from this young scientist.’ BAMS (American Meteorological Society)
‘Over the vears there has been quite a deluge of books on the weather but John Shonk’s Introducing Meteorology, A Guide to Weather' is affordable, concise yet full of information. It is very readable and is generously illustrated with an excellent balance between pictures and diagrams, all in colour.’ Weather Eye
