About the Author

Cristina Peri Rossi is an award-winning Uruguayan novelist, short story writer, and poet, considered one of the leading Latin American writers of the post-boom generation. She is the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim grant for fiction and the Loewe poetry award. She is the author of more than 30 books. Robert S. Rudder has translated two of Cristina Peri Rossi's novels into English. He has been a professor of Spanish language and literature at the University of Minnesota, the University of California-Los Angeles, USA, and other colleges. He is the author of The Literature of Spain in English Translation. Ignacio Lopez-Calvo is a professor of Latin American literature at the University of California-Merced.
