About the Author

Bharat Bhushan Gupta's passion for reading and love of research can be traced back to his early education-post graduation in Oil Technology from Harcourt Buller Technological Institute, Kanpur and advanced training in the UK, France and Germany. While working for the Uttar Pradesh Government, he was awarded a scholarship by the Government of Netherlands to study Management at the Research Institute of Management Science. This opened an opportunity for further studies and strengthened his interest in history, philosophy and religion. A chance meeting with Swami Chinmayananda in 1974 changed the course of his life. Bharat Bhushan studied Vedanta, keeping in touch with Swamiji for almost two decades. He assisted him in the various activities of the Mission. He also began to write on Vedanta. In 1990, Bharat Bhushan Gupta founded the Kabir Peace Mission, along with four friends. Its journal, Kabir Jyoti, which he edited for a decade, carries many thought-provoking articles on a wide range of philosophical subjects.
