As a teacher, speaker and writer, Diane DeBella has spent twenty years examining women writers, women's history and feminist issues. She is the author of the collective memoir, I Am Subject: Sharing Our Truths to Reclaim Our Selves, and her work has also been published in numerous journals, including When Women Waken, California Quarterly, Vermont Literary Review and Montpelier. She currently teaches at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she has received the CU Women Who Make a Difference Award and the CU-LEAD Alliance Faculty Appreciation Award. She also guides women and girls through the process of sharing their truths in order to claim themselves as subject of their own lives, thereby creating a stronger system of support and community.
