Janine Fair spent eight years working as a medical doctor, with experience in both psychiatry and general practice, and was a clergy wife until the sudden death of her husband in 2004. Since that time she has qualified as a life coach and has worked alongside many young widows, as well as serving as Mentoring Coordinator at her local church. However her primary focus has been to build a wholesome family life in which she and her two children can thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually. She is a committed Christian and lives in Loughborough, Leicestershire. Her first book, 'Surprised by Grief - a journey into hope', was published in 2010 by IVP.
Long ago Job asked where can wisdom be found, only to discover that it came as gift through painful wrestling and persistent prayer. In this remarkable book Janine demonstrates the continuing value of the timeless gift of wisdom which has been rooted in life, shaped by reflection, and formed in painful hope-filled prayer. She has known grief and clung on, held in the scarred but faithful hands of Christ; here she holds out a hand to us who find ourselves wanting to grow, whatever our circumstances, into the precious mystery of all that God calls us to be in Christ. This is a practical gem. Rev. Mark Tanner, Warden, Cranmer Hall, St John's College, Durham University.
