About the Author

Alexandra Fiada is a journalist and author who has been fascinated from an early age by words and languages. She is probably the only person in the world who reads etymological dictionaries as if they were novels and has always understood the linguistic difficulties summed up in the well-known saying: 'It's all Greek to me.' This is why when trying to teach her British and American friends to pronounce Greek without a Herculean struggle, she used the 'Xenophobe's way'. And, hey presto, now they can get by in Greek with the best of them.
