About the Author

Daniel Brown is Senior Lecturer, Department of English, University of Western Australia. He is also Associate Professor at the Free International University, Amsterdam. His publications include: Hopkins' Idealism: Philosophy, Physics, Poetry (1997); (with Hilary Fraser) English Prose of the Nineteenth Century; 'Science and Poetry', in Joseph Bristow (ed.), The Cambridge Companion to Victorian Poetry (2000).
