About the Author

Peter Toon practised as a GP for 30 years. He also held academic posts at UCL, Queen Mary University of London and the GP Deanery, where he worked mainly on postgraduate and continuing education. He has written many academic papers, particularly on the ethics of medical reports, preventive health care and virtue ethics in medical practice, as well as his two major works, What is Good General Practice? and Towards a Philosophy of General Practice.
