A new cover re-issue of the ground-breaking, worldwide bestselling feminist tract. A worldwide bestseller, translated into over twelve languages, THE FEMALE EUNUCH is a landmark in the history of the women's movement. Drawing liberally from history, literature and popular culture, past and present, Germaine Greer's searing examination of women's oppression is at once an important social commentary and a passionately argued masterpiece of polemic. Probably the most famous, most widely read book on feminism ever.

well okay every australian of the modern century has had to read this if you consider yourself aware of the writers and shakers of feminist ideologies, and yeah it was an interesting read, but certainly of its time. There are obvious messages and insights that we all know and don't need to be bludgeoned with by greer, again interesting but we should all think for ourselves, don't let an academic (whether man or women) tell you what to believe or how to see the world of gender interrelations. Not all men are evil and not all women are saints.

Bit of a history lesson but still extremely relevent in understanding the drive, frustrations and inspirations of the second wave feminist movement in the 60s and 70s, and the work still left to do. Firey, intelligent and humourous.
