Dr Rowlingson is a researcher and consultant in information security and cybercrime. He has a diverse background in research strategy, technology commercialisation, homeland security, cyber security and digital forensics. He has worked in information security for over 12 years and his interests include the insider threat, critical infrastructure protection, secure software development and digital investigations. He now acts as a technology 'scout', and enjoys tracking and evaluating new cyber security technologies. He also pioneered the concept of enterprise forensic readiness, part of the UK government security framework.
Whether you're responsible for looking after computers at your
business, or in your home, it's more important than ever to know
how to secure them from threats. Anyone who reads this book will
walk away with a comprehensive understanding of how to reduce the
risks of a cybercriminal attack, and protect themselves in the
office and in the home.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to the
educated computer user who is concerned with their ignorance with
regard to information security. It is well written and nicely paced
and gives good insight into the perils of home computer use.
