I found this book diabolical. The author was the most selfish person I've ever heard of. She presented herself as an expert on everything, makes you wonder how she had such a sad marriage, love affair and messy divorce. If I recall right she was in her 30's but spoke as though she had the wisdom of an ancient one. Give this a miss.

I found this book absolute rubbish. It is written by a self absorbed woman who is writing and keeping notes about her time - knowing - that she is writing a book!! Total rubbish! I couldn't even finish this as I was totally bored! You can have my copy for free - oops sorry forgot I already threw it in the bin!

From the viewpoint of a fictitious story, this could be entertaining. However, from the view point of a true story, it is incredibly unrealistic, selfish and narcissistic. If everyone ran away from the life they chose to enter into with another person, what is the point of marriage, family or even divorce?
Not sure what this book is supposed to inspire? That all women throw down their cares and obligations, run away to chase some fantasy, and fingers-crossed it all turns out alright? Life is simple and with consequences. Living life as if there are no repercussions or as selfishly as possible, is really over-indulgent and irresponsible.
Nevertheless, it is rather entertaining to imagine what could have been or what could be...

Even if you are not on a quest for spiritual enlightenment this story is a good read. Written in a most easy to read style, the book tells how a woman battles divorce, depression and heartbreak. But the book is not depressing.
Entertaining and uplifting, the book is most suitable for book clubs and for anyone who wants to read a completely absorbing book.

I did finish the book but found it very frustrating as she is the type of personality that does not appeal to me at all. Selfish, self absorbed and really did little for the world, except maybe hers. I'm not at all interested in seeing the film. I think she needs to get a life.

I didn't really like the book. Took me a while to read, mind, I only got up to her visit to India and then gave it back to my friend. Each to their own.

For me, there was too much praying and not enough of the relationships and the "love".

Just have fun with this book for the celebration of all things that it is.
Not always brilliantly written, but I loved it for the lived experiences.
To find your most favourite word to be the Italian word for crossing the road
is GREAT, and made me think of what word reflected ME!?
Just E N J O Y it.... and don't take it too seriously.
