Reviews

Jan 07 Tired of trying to find space for those hefty 12 x 12 albums, or tramping around strange towns looking for scrapbooking stores? Or perhaps, like this reviewer, you love your paper and paste but want to learn how to do some fancy effects with graphics programs, and then use your virtual art for many applications? Either way, digital scrapbooking is here to stay and here is where you can learn all about it. This is a remarkably user-friendly book, with plenty of staged lessons and full color pictures of staged steps. There are even downloadable images from the publisher's own website so you can follow the lessons to the letter on your own computer. You will find this book useful if you have Photoshop Elements, as it uses this program throughout and if you don't yet have it then, like me, you will certainly want to own it by the end of the book. Paint Shop Pro and ordinary Photoshop owners will be able to follow some of it, but I found it rather like going to dog obedience classes when you actually own a cat. But if Elements is your bag, then this is a fun and easy way to discover its intricacies and put it through its paces, creating some great stuff that you can be proud of. Essential book for all owners or would-be owners of this program, but if you have something like Scrapbook Factory then this is not the book for you. Myshelf.com
