About the Author

Ed Krebs first researched Chinese anarchism and wrote Shifu, Soul of Chinese Anarchism. Drawn to constructively discordant themes in recent Chinese life, he has pursued Old Photos and its role in building a community of readers who seek fuller understanding of their own history. Hanchao Lu is Professor of History at the Georgia Institute of Technology and author of three award-wining books on modern Chinese history. He is the editor of the peer-refereed journal, Chinese Historical Review.
