About the Author

Dr. Ward Alan Minge is one of New Mexico's preeminent scholars of Spanish Colonial, Mexican, Territorial, and Pueblo history. In addition to serving as a historian at Kirtland Air Force Base, Minge was the first historian hired to help the Pueblos negotiate the never-ending maze of legal issues affecting tribal land and water rights. He is the author of Acoma: Pueblo in the Sky (UNM Press).
