About the Author

Born and raised in the seaside/country town of Geraldton, Western Australia, Amanda hails from fishing and farming stock. The youngest of four children, her three brothers raised her on a diet of Rocky, Rambo, Muhammad Ali and AC/DC. Naturally, she grew up somewhat of a tomboy, preferring to watch action/sci-fi films over the standard rom-com and liking her music rock hard. But that said, she can still swoon with the best of them. She moved to Perth (Western Australia) to pursue her dreams and study film & television/creative writing at Murdoch University, earning her a BA in Communication Studies. Perth has been her home ever since, aside from a nineteen-month stint in London (England) where she dabbled in Film & TV 'Extra' work. Her third novel 'Aurora: Meridian' was shortlisted for an Aurealis Award for Best Science Fiction Novel. Six books are currently available worldwide in the Aurora series.

Reviews

"Aurora: Decima did not disappoint. If anything it was even better than I imagined it would be. Carrie and Saul really stepped up their game in the race to prepare for the Zetas invasion. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, a twist would throw me for a loop and leave me gasping." Shell, Amazon.com.au."With the Aurora books you have to hang on tight because the action hits you in ever increasing waves until the biggie at the end and I love it that way. Relationships throughout this book mostly deepen and intensify, even with the AI computer ( Archie) in the fortress. What makes this series so good to my mind is the emotion that the author, Amanda Bridgeman, can draw from the reader. No, I don't mind shedding a tear or getting frustrated with those in control etc when reading. When an author can evoke an emotional response from me then I know I'm enjoying every minute of being in that moment. Combine that with a sense of humor ( love Archie ) and the Aurora teams camaraderie and you have a winner." Carol Gray, amazon.com.au."Decima rushes fast forward through a decade in time to the early arrival of a Zeta invasion and focuses on what the Aurora series does best - character and action driven science fiction. With book six in the series, Bridgeman took her foundation of characters and their relationships to the next level. They grew from well developed to complex and where the action went (and there's a lot, ) I felt the added intensity of my attachment to Aurora's crew." West Coast Book Reviews
