David Whitwell has studied at the University of Michigan [BM "with Distinction"], the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC [Ph.D., Distinguished Alumni Award], the University of Vienna, the Akademie fur Music, Vienna and privately with Eugene Ormandy. He has been a guest professor in more than 100 universities in the US and in 23 foreign countries and has been made a member of the California Hall of Fame for Music Education. Called "one of the legendary conductors of the 20th Century" [Chicago: GIA, 2010]. he has conducted resident bands and orchestras throughout the world. His publications include 60 books, articles in Music and Letters [London], Mozart-Jahrbuch [Salzburg], the London Musical Times and six symphonies, and various smaller compositions."
